Marvin Vettori’s First Public Comments After Five-Round Battle Against Jacannonier

Marvin Vettori, a UFC middleweight competitor, isn’t afraid of losing to Jared Cannonier in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Vettori was hit with 241 significant strikes, a UFC middleweight strike record. This happened in the UFC Fight Night 226 loss to Cannonier. Vettori was on a downward spiral after his impressive victory over Roman Dolidze in UFC 286.

Vettori, 29, is still one of the most difficult opponents in the UFC middleweight division. He has beaten the likes Paulo Costa and Kevin Holland during his UFC career.

Vettori may have to wait for a while before he can take another shot at Israel Adesanya. But he is willing to do anything to bounce back after this loss.

Marvin Vettori Promises Vengeance After UFC Fight Night 226

In a recent Instagram posting, Vettori expressed his positivity in spite of this latest UFC defeat.

Vettori wrote on Monday: “A lion is a lion.” “Spirit never broke.” “I’ll be stronger than ever, I promise.”

Vettori lost a unanimous decision to Robert Whittaker in UFC Paris before his recent victory over Dolidze. After losing to Adesanya in UFC 263, he defeated Paulo Costa at light heavyweight in October 2021.

Vettori lost twice to Adesanya in his career, but could earn a title fight with him later on. He will need to continue his impressive winning streak, as he did from 2019 to 2021 when he had won five straight fights.

Vettori will keep his head high for now and look to return to his previous form in his next Octagon performance. He showed elite toughness and grit in the 25-minute fight against Cannonier.
