ONE Title Challenger Set For Long Recovery After Not Tapping To Leglock

Gantumur Bayanduuren, a recent challenger for the ONE Championship title, is now set to spend a long spell on the sidelines following a grueling leglock.

Asia’s largest promotion for combat sports returned last Friday to host ONE Fight Night 6, its first event in 2023. Three title fights were featured on the card which was broadcast live on Prime Video North America.

Chingiz Allazov won the featherweight kickboxing title with a knockout of Superbon Sika Mawynn and Superlek Kittymoo9, outlasting Daniel Puertas to win flyweight gold. Mikey Musumeci, a top Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, put his title up for the first time.

Musumeci has now added the ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling title to his achievements. He also became a five-time IBJJF Black Belt world champion.

Although the winner was unanimously decided, the champ pushed hard for a close.

Musumeci kept his leglock going throughout the contest. Bayanduuren refused to tap, even though he seemed to have his leg locked in, twisting, and contorting the knee of his opponent.

Musumeci and the crowd were baffled by the display of resilience from the Mongolian, which made for difficult viewing.
