Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Wins TKO versus Ryan ‘King’ Garcia with Brutal Body Shot

Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia Boxing

In a bout between two of boxing’s brightest stars, Gervonta Davis was expected to win because of her superior power.

It was a one-punch knockout for Davis (29-0 with 27 KOs), arguably today’s top knockout artist. Davis knocked Garcia to the ground in round 2 with counter punch in the face and finished him in round 7 with a body punch.

Garcia (23-1-19 KOs) went in with a game face and delivered a series single power shots. However, he was unable beat the count after a sneaky left hand counter to the body. After a delayed reaction, the 24-year-old went to one knee as blood poured from his nose. However, he couldn’t recover as referee Thomas Taylor ruled Garcia out at 1:44 in Round 7.

Davis, who had reunited before the fight with his former promoter Floyd Mayweather, hugged Mayweather with a big smile after the win. Davis, 28, spent the majority of his promotion telling media members that he is already the face of boxing, despite the narrative surrounding the fight.

Davis stated, “I am definitely the face of Boxing.” “Everyone already knew that.”

Davis’ power may have been the main story of this Showtime PPV main event, but it was his superior technique, ring intelligence, and experience that helped him secure the victory. Davis, despite Garcia’s 39-35 advantage, landed 48% of all his power shots in this low-output bout.
